In case you wonder why I'm using a pseudonym, here are some of the reasons:
Drawing is one of my hobbies, and beside this I'm also involved in other "more serious" projects, and I wish to avoid confusion between these different occupations. Some people using a search engine to look at these other projects (in which I have to use my real name) would possibly be disappointed when reaching this site :-)
I am not a professional nor semi-professional artist, just an enthusiast
having fun with experiments, and using graphics as a medium to play with
certain ideas, concepts, fantasies or moods. Thus, anything not closely related to
what you can find on this site would only "interfere".
You really don't want
to know my situation, how many pets I have, their names etc. to "understand"
this site, it's supposed to be self explanatory! If I had decided to study
seriously Art and tried to make it an official stuff, yes, I would have used
my real name - But it happens that's not the way I intend this, due to some
laziness, leak of self-discipline and woes of life.
In my way of doing things, Internet is the ideal place to show my works: there is just the Visitor in front of the content. While it's often a limitation when dealing with other topics, it's perfect for my approach. A pseudonym is just one more tool to emphasize the content rather than my ego.
I guess there is humor in most of what I do - at different degrees. Sometimes good taste, sometimes bad - sometimes it's obviously intended, sometimes it's just accidental. Something that makes me smile will perhaps gets someone else bored, and vice versa - there's no problem with that, IMHO. In everything there is a potential of happiness and sadness altogether, what's important is the recipient will be able to find his own proportions of paradoxical feelings, that tells him the best story: the one his imagination will produce.
Everything, when it comes at the right place and moment.
It's an eternal (read: boring) topic ! My point of view is quite simple: the three ones are possible approach of the same reality, why choose only one while thinking everything else is "evil" ? Erotica brings the power of suggestion, porn (when well used) can be very efficient vector of "simple" and strong feelings. Last, academic can be seen as the power of strict rigor, discipline.
With increasing success of softwares like Photoshop or The Gimp, almost everybody have already seen the "Airbrush" tool in its virtual state. Real airbrush appeared by late 19th century, and has always been used in lots of applications: Art, industry, make-up, cinema, photo retouching, body art etc...
In short, an Airbrush is simply a mechanic paint brush with paint projected by air under pressure.
There are tons of very different Airbrush availables, here's a photo of one
of my 3 ones:
It's an Aztek, costed me about 200 euros (ouch !), and is very different
from most of the other airbrushes (resine instead of metal, pluggable heads,
many possible settings etc.).
My other Airbrushes: pictures soon !
My Poor man's compressor (based on a fridge engine and a CFC tank),
looks horrible, but very powerfull :-). The total cost for connectors,
the correct manometer was about 100 Euros - it might sound expensive,
but be aware that a real Airbrush Compressor in Art furnitures
shops starts by 200 Euros (up to 500 or more), but with little tanks
(from 1.5 Litres) while mine is 15 Litres, and easy to repair due
to standard (ISO) connectors and pieces (not mentionning nuclear
war proof :-).
If you want to build one as well, be extremely carefull to use only adapted pipes (and connectors), a pipe exploding with 6 bars inside can cause severe injuries. So even if those kind of tanks support up to 70 bars, it's advised to not "store" more than 5 bars in it. With pressures used on common airbrushes (from 0.1 to 3 bars max) you won't have to start the engine too often. For larger painting where lots of air is needed, it worth buying an adapted securized compressor (large tank, auto-stop, robust pieces).
One can easily find compressors on wrecked fridges, and for the tank, I guess that any robust containers (domestic gas, liquid air etc.) would do the trick - just try to find one for free or second hand to lower price.
Cheese is so good, eat some ! When it smells very strong it's even better - and don't forget some good (read: French) wine to reach the Nirvana - it's approved by doctors in nice white shirts :o)
